What is Bad Idea WARN?
Bad Idea WARN is a coming later quiet-luxury hardware object in Soft Black — two controls by feel: WARN (proud primary) and SOS (recessed, deliberate). It is designed for the same UK legal lane as a personal alarm / deterrent gadget: no irritant, no weapon narrative. It is not for sale and not shipping now. Soft Black shots on this page are concept CGI. We do not claim cameras are notified, that emergency services are auto-dialled, or that it “keeps you safe.” Every fight you don’t have is a win is a voice line — not a promise.
What am I joining if I notify?
The notify form is for launch updates — primarily when WARN becomes real, and/or Bad Idea Alarm (the legal UK product on the waitlist now). What is Bad Idea Alarm?
Bad Idea Alarm is our UK-legal lipstick-scale personal alarm — loud siren, deliberate lock, beauty-adjacent colours. It is the honest current product path. When activated it emits a loud siren intended to attract attention. It is not a weapon and does not discharge any spray.
What is Shield Tech?
Shield Tech is our concept Quiet Concierge layer around Bad Idea hardware — Raise, Guardians, a calm “when not to go” read, and Clear — with AI staying behind the ritual. It is not live. Concept screens on this page are illustrative only. No app, monitoring, live map, always-on tracking, or dispatch runs from this website today. You start it — we never claim cameras, auto-999, or that anything “keeps you safe.”
Is this pepper spray? Is any spray version available in the UK?
No. Under the Firearms Act 1968, civilian pepper / CS / PAVA-type irritant sprays are prohibited weapons. Bad Idea’s UK line is alarm / deterrent gadget only. Any export-only defence line would be separate, geo-fenced and counsel-cleared — never implied as UK-available on this site.
How loud will WARN / Alarm be?
We’re designing to a high-decibel personal-alarm class (commodity UK alarms often cite around 130–140 dB; WARN targets ≥138 dB class @ ~30 cm). Final published figures follow acoustic validation — never test near ears, and follow the IFU hearing warning.
Who is it for?
Anyone who wants a legal, beautiful carry object: style-led people, gift-givers, students, nightlife guests, and lone workers. Soft Black leads the WARN story so it isn’t “for her only.” Signature Rose remains Alarm’s beauty-shelf hero.
Does it prevent assault or violence?
No honest product can promise that. Bad Idea is a preparedness tool — legal, loud, designed to be carried — not a guarantee of safety. We don’t sell fear, and we don’t claim to fund systemic solutions alone.
